Click here to find out more about the Maritime Festival PAYC is responsible for several of the activities. 1. The boat parade starting near the club and going down to city pier on Saturday starting at 10 am. We will need a boat captain to get the boats lined up and the procession moving. We are hoping for a large turn out from both club members and boat haven slip holders, as well as the Coast Guard, Sheriff’s Patrol Boat, Customs and Border Protection, and maybe Fish and Wildlife. 2. We will be co staffing a tent with the PAYC Community Boating Program during both days. CBP will be providing sail boat rides and it will be a great time for members to meet the public and talk about our club. Please help us out manning a booth by signing up here 3. Our big event is the night of Saturday the 10th. We are going to be hosting an open house. This is our opportunity to show folks what makes our club so special. We will need a lot of help to make this work smoothly...all hands-on deck kind of thing. We are going to have a food truck, so we don’t have to worry about food service, but the bar will be open to the public. We hope to have some raffles, music...maybe sea shanties...and a few other activities. To make this work, we will need folks to help set up and decorate, staff the door, help with inside chores, clean up afterward, and most importantly, mixing and mingling. Just welcoming guests and talking to them will be very important. |
